GenMet Creates a Culture of Success

GenMet Corp., a Mequon custom metal fabricator, first turned to the WMEP nearly a decade ago to allow it to better compete in an increasingly global environment. "Manufacturing became globally competitive," GenMet President Mary Isbister said. "We had to figure out how to transition ourselves into that global economy and how to compete.

Manufacturing Matters! & MOTY on Feb. 28, 2013
Feb 28 Manufacturing Matters!, the signature event of the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership, will be held Feb. 28, 2013 at a new location - the Hyatt Regency in downtown Milwaukee.

For the first time, the day-long event will be held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) awards banquet, which will take place that night at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. The MOTY program recognizes companies in a variety of categories for manufacturing excellence. It is sponsored by Baker Tilly, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Michael Best and Friedrich.  

WANTED: Manufacturing Champion


champion When U.S. Senators Herb Kohl and Olympia Snowe leave the U.S. Senate in January, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program will lose two of its strongest advocates.  Kohl and Snowe understand the importance of manufacturing to America's economic health and, since 1994, have championed the MEP program and its work with small and medium manufacturers.
